Deadly Truck Accident and Double Fatality on Highway 401
Ontario Police Watchdog Investigating
A transport truck driver has tragically lost their life in a single-vehicle crash. Meanwhile, two grandparents have also succumbed to their injuries following a separate incident on Highway 401. Ontario's police watchdog is investigating both these heart-wrenching events.
The transport truck crash occurred yesterday, leaving the driver dead at the scene. Emergency services responded promptly, but sadly, the driver could not be revived. Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
In a separate incident, two grandparents were killed in a serious crash on Highway 401 in Kingston. South Frontenac OPP confirm that the victims were in their 70s. A third passenger was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have retained the services of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to investigate the circumstances surrounding this double fatality. The SIU is an independent body that investigates incidents involving police officers where death, serious injury, or sexual assault may have occurred.
